It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was out the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

However although she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.
